Young Professional meeting 18-20 March in Oslo

Last week it was time for the Orkla Young Professional meeting in Oslo, an event that I had been looking forward to for quite some time. For three days we had interesting lectures held by members from the Executive Board in Orkla, seminars about business ethics and group exercises covering different aspects of employer branding.

The fact that almost all members of the Executive Board held lectures at the YP-meeting showed that Orkla as an organisation prioritizes and values the young professionals. To hear Orkla President and CEO, Dag J. Opedal, talk about his 20 years within the organisation and his plans for the future was motivating and I learned a lot about Orkla’s history during his 2 hour lecture.

During the three days the meeting lasted the schedule was filled with activities during the days and casual, relaxed dinners in the evenings. The hotel had a nice design and the food was amazing.

Between lectures you could eat popcorn and soft ice-cream which was very popular….at least for Ståle and Madeleine that work together with me at Lilleborg :)

Snow storms, laughter and interesting meetings up north

To obtain great and necessary understanding of Lilleborg as an organisation, a program consisting of over 40 relevant activities is compulsory to attend when you begin as a Young Professional at the company…one of these activities is visiting Lilleborg’s production site, Ello, in Kristiansund.

Said and done…a cold Wednesday, 8 newly hired employees at Lilleborg went by a small airplane from Oslo to Kristiansund. For two days we had interesting meetings with representatives from various key functions, worked in the production line and had time to get to know each other as well as the production site.
